Volunteer Opportunities

Columbia River fire & Rescue is a combination system. This means we have both volunteer and career personnel providing fire and rescue services for the Citizens of our Fire District.  Columbia River Fire & Rescue provides services to over 27,000 citizens in 185 square miles.

Seven fire stations are strategically located throughout the combined District.  An Administration Office, Joint Maintenance Facility and the Lee Broadbent Training Center are also located within the District.

Columbia River Fire & Rescue needs more volunteer firefighters to help protect our homes, neighborhoods, and communities.  As a volunteer firefighter, you'll learn invaluable skills while serving your community and making a positive impact on those around you.

The Fire Fighter Physical Ability Test is a timed test divided into 5 tasks. The Firefighter will be wearing a turnout coat, SCBA, safety glasses, gloves and helmet which can weigh up to 60 pounds. These tasks are performed beginning with task #1 through task #5 without stopping. Each member will be required to take this test to successfully go through our academy.
